The Challenge

When D’Anna Wilcox set out to create Cascade Barber Company, she envisioned something Medford didn’t yet have: a classic barbershop designed for the men of southern Oregon. She wanted a space that captured the rugged spirit of the region, think flannel shirts, mountain air, and no-nonsense craftsmanship, yet remained polished, welcoming, and timeless. After struggling to find a designer who could translate that balance of grit and sophistication, D’Anna came to me to build the brand.

The Approach

We began by defining the visual essence of southern Oregon masculinity, inspired by the snow-dusted Cascades, weathered timber, and the enduring appeal of classic barbershop culture. From there, I developed a logo and identity system that blended heritage design cues with modern craftsmanship. The result is a brand that feels both bold and refined: an homage to the hardworking, grounded men it serves, and a cornerstone of Medford’s booming creative and small-business community.
