The Challenge

Located within the historic Jacksonville Inn in Jacksonville, Oregon, The Gold Room set out to transform the former wine lounge into something far more distinctive — an elevated cocktail and spirits lounge deeply inspired by the town’s gold rush heritage and timeless sense of community. The owner envisioned a space that felt warm, refined, and unforgettable: a place where locals and visitors alike could gather over exceptional cocktails in an atmosphere rooted in history, craftsmanship, and connection.

The challenge was to create a complete brand identity that honored Jacksonville’s storied past while establishing The Gold Room as one of southern Oregon’s premier cocktail destinations.

The Approach

Working closely with the owner throughout the creative process, I helped develop the concept and naming of The Gold Room itself — a nod to Jacksonville’s golden history and the tradition of travelers and townsfolk gathering to share stories over drinks. From there, I designed the complete visual identity system, blending old-world sophistication with modern elegance to create a brand that feels both historic and elevated.

The identity extended across every detail of the experience, including custom typography, signage, menus, etched mirrors and glasswork, and environmental graphics throughout the lounge. Every design decision was made to support the atmosphere of relaxed luxury and timeless hospitality that now defines The Gold Room. The result is a beautifully cohesive destination that has quickly become one of the most beloved cocktail lounges in southern Oregon.
